Congratulations to Cleveland Indians short stop Francisco Lindor for receiving the Rising Star award for 2016 during the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year Awards last night at Barclays Center in New York.
Cleveland Indians star Francisco Lindor accepts the 2016 Symetra Rising Star award, stating, 'I'm living my dream.' Subscribe to ►► http://po.st/SubscribeSI Since its inception in 1954, Sports Illustrated magazine has annually presented the Sportsperson of the Year award to "the athlete or team whose performance that year most embodies the spirit of sportsmanship and achievement."
He received the award from recently retired Red Sox great David Ortiz (pictured above with Rob Manfred the commissioner of MLB & Francisco). The two joked about things that Ortiz could do now that he had retired, with Francisco's suggestion of Sports Illustrated swim suit model getting a great reaction from the crowd.
The room was full of sporting legends, such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Jim Brown with LeBron James being named Sportsperson of the Year. Legendary Olympian Michael Phelps was honored as the greatest Olympian of all time.
Bausele was very proud to see Franciso honored in front of such an incredible room of greats and wearing Bausele's white Pilot Automatic Cockatoo. We are looking forward to seeing him continue to "live his dream" as this 23 year old has won several awards already this year and for him the sky is definitely the limit. Watch his humble and loving acceptance speech in the video below.

Beautiful space, delicious food, and an aperol spritz makes for a very cool night to launch BAUSELE USA in LA. We were joined by watchlovers and our ambassador, Dominic Purcell for a relaxed night and time to check out the watches first hand. Get down from tomorrow to General Admission 52 Brooks Ave, Venice, to check them out for yourself.

For those of you hoping to meet Dominic this weekend in Las Vegas for the World Watch market - we've just heard he has sustained an injury while filming in Morocco. He reports he is alive and well but won't be leaving Morocco as scheduled. We are sending our best wishes to him for a speedy recovery. And have assured him Vegas can wait!
We were relieved to know his girlfriend, AnnaLynne McCord, had just arrived on set - this is the photo we got prior to the accident.
Airlifted and sewn up sounds like an episode of Prison Break!
The Bausele Team is sending all our support to them both. Most importantly, Dominic is ok .....but we will miss him this weekend at the World Watch Market.

As an Australian watch company we wanted to have an Australian face to represent us globally. Dominic Purcell has a face that you may remember from the hit FOX show PRISON BREAK. When the next instalment comes back to television later this year you will see more of him as well as our signature watch, The Terra Australis - worn by his character, Lincoln Burrows, on the show. We felt that Dominic mirrors the tough exterior coupled with the style and class that is Bausele. And he loves the watches! His life takes him from action to the red carpet and as most Bausele watches include two interchangeable leather and silicone straps, this means he can travel with one watch that has two functions.

Bausele’s latest innovation has been its collaboration with the Flinders University Centre for NanoScale Science and Technology in South Australia to develop Bauselite.
Bauselite is a lightweight and durable ceramic compound. The creation of this material composite has provided the basis for Bausele’s Terra Australis, featured at the 2015 Baselworld showcase in Switzerland. Bauselite, with its unique lightweight and high-strength nanotechnology material has already received attention in boutique luxury watchmaking circles as a material of the future for watches, its unique properties have presented a number of possibilities for the luxury watchmaking industry in the years and decades ahead.
As an Australian-designed, Swiss-made brand, Bausele has not only developed a cutting-edge innovation, but it has taken done so in a way to allow for the manufacturing of this material to be conducted in Australia, adding to the Australian heritage found in every Bausele watch.

Our Terra Australis was recently put to the test by the guys at Time & Tide Watch Magazine. Below is the article in full.
“Clearly ‘less is more’ is not their design philosophy.” – Zach Weiss, Worn & Wound
This review of the Bausele Terra Australis is going to be a little different. Mostly because the watch is a little different. And no, I’m not talking about the wrist-hugging bullhead design and innovative materials, though they are pretty different. This review is unusual because the watch I’m talking about is a pre-production prototype that has literally just arrived from Switzerland.
This means we need to take a few things into account. The finishing is not the same as the final version (especially on the dial), the strap will be different, and in fact whole elements of the design will be changed. Christophe Hoppe, founder of Bausele has already informed me that another, further refined prototype is in the works which will be thinner and less bulky, with a smaller Bauselite component (more on that later) and with a matte, rather than polished finish.
Basically what we’re looking at today is a preliminary sketch, compared to a finished painting. So, you might be asking – is there any point talking about this watch if large parts of it are going to change? Well yes, there is value. Just like a sketch, this prototype allows us to see the bones of the watch, to explore the concepts and the overall vision, even if we can’t yet make out the fine details.
